Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 2026-08-18

This policy applies to the iOS version. For the Android version, see: Android Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect and Why

“Today, a Note” processes the following items, and all processing is conditional on the user's explicit consent. • Photos (Library / Camera): For attaching photos to diary entries and saving share cards. Denying this permission only restricts these features; it does not affect general app use. • Location (When in Use, Approximate): To automatically fill in the weather at the time of writing. Precise location is not used, and denying this permission only restricts automatic weather entry. • Local Notification Permission: For displaying writing reminders. No external push server is used; all notifications are generated entirely on the user's device. • Diary text, attached photos, and metadata: Content written directly by the user. It is stored only on the user's device and in the user's own iCloud account — the developer does not collect or receive it (see Section 2).

2. Where Data Is Stored

All data is stored only on the user's local device and in the user's own iCloud account. No user data is transmitted to any server operated by SB Corporation, and there is no means by which operators can access a user's diary entries or photos.

3. Use of iCloud

If the user enables iCloud sync, data is synchronized and backed up within the user's own Apple ID account via Apple iCloud Drive. This data is processed in accordance with Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions, and SB Corporation has no access to it. Users can disable iCloud use for this app at any time in System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.

4. Third-Party SDKs / Tracking

“Today, a Note” uses the following SDKs to improve stability and usability. • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google LLC): Crash reports and anonymized usage statistics. Diary entries and photos are never transmitted; only non-identifying data such as anonymous device identifiers, device language, and app usage behavior (e.g., whether a diary was saved) is collected. • Amplitude (Amplitude, Inc.): Anonymized usage statistics. Only the same anonymous data described above is collected. No advertising identifier (IDFA) is used, and no tracking permission is requested. Data processing by each provider follows their respective policies: • Google Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy • Amplitude: https://amplitude.com/privacy

5. Data Retention

Data is retained until the user deletes it. No automatic deletion policy is applied.

6. User Rights

Users may exercise the following rights. • Delete individual entries: Delete from the entry detail screen within the app • Delete all data: Settings → Data Management → Delete All • Access, rectification, deletion, and objection (GDPR / CCPA): Because all data is stored solely on the user's device and in the user's own iCloud account, users can exercise these rights directly For additional inquiries, please contact support@sb-corporation.com.

7. Children's Information

“Today, a Note” is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13 (COPPA). If we become aware that a user under 13 has used this app, no action to delete data from external servers is required, as no information entered by that user is transmitted outside the user's device. However, we recommend that a parent or guardian delete the app from the user's device.
